Sign up through your primary care physician
To receive treatment at Synthese , you need a valid referral from your primary care physician. Your primary care physician can refer you for basic mental health care or specialized mental health care.
- Discuss your symptoms with your primary care physician. Your primary care physician will work with you to determine what kind of help is right for you.
- Request a referral to Synthese through ZorgDomein. We will receive your referral letter directly through this system.
- Check the waiting period and coverage. Read about the waiting periods for your language and the information on coverage and the deductible.

When am I not eligible for treatment at Synthese?
Synthese a number of exclusion criteria. Patients with (suspected) cases of the following conditions cannot be Synthese at Synthese :
- Bipolar disorder
- Suicidal behavior with a high risk of suicide
- Schizophrenia
- Addiction issues (including alcohol addiction, drug addiction, gambling addiction, and sex addiction)
- Severe personality disorder (with or without suicidal behavior)
- Intellectual disability
- Eating disorders
- Adjustment disorders
- Relationship problems
- Pain complaints (ALK/SOLK)
- Forensic care, aftercare following detention, and criminality (indication Fivoor)
- Aggression dysregulation as sole diagnosis (indication De Waag)
- You live outside the Haaglanden region.
