's unique care programs Synthese

Research at Synthese takes place to support the treatment. It will be discussed with your practitioner that an investigation is needed to be able to continue with the treatment. Depending on the question, an investigation consists of: an anamnesis interview, questionnaires, interviews and tests. In the case of larger investigations, this is divided over a number of half-days. After completion of the research, an extensive meeting will take place in which the results will be discussed with you; extensive reporting is also provided. Because the studies are performed to support your treatment, they are fully reimbursed by your health insurance company. For more information about the reimbursement, please visit compensation.

Possible reasons for investigation are:

  • It's not clear what's going on.
  • The treatment has stalled.
  • There are special questions about memory, attention, intelligence and concentration.
  • There is a (suspicion of) a personality disorder or other specific psychiatric disorders.

Our goal is to investigate the treatment options and to understand as well as possible what is wrong with the patient. During these investigations we look for both the nature and the seriousness of the problems. What psychiatric disorders are there and how can a patient and those close to them deal with them?

Types of Psychodiagnostic Examination:

  • intelligence research;
  • Neuropsychological research: an examination of various psychological functions such as concentration, memory, planning, social insight, learning speed and practical skills;
  • Personality research: an investigation into the strong and weak personality traits and the ability to deal with stress;
  • Specific psychiatric images: a study into, for example, ADHD, autism, psychosis, trauma, depression and anxiety disorders.

Mental problems often involve feelings of guilt or shame. Still, it is wise to accept professional help. It can happen to anyone, but if you don't do something about it, you'll just keep walking around with it and the problems won't go away on their own. Bee Synthese We have a wide range of treatment programs. If we are going to help you with your mental problems, we speak of treatment.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a collective name for a number of forms of therapeutic methods, which focus on psychological problems and psychiatric disorders. The aim is to make a patient's life situation livable again. We look at your life with you and help you find solutions and answers to difficult issues, make more effective use of your own possibilities, develop insights, knowledge and skills and strengthen your own social self-reliance.

Pharmacotherapy

Pharmacotherapy is the name for the treatment of (psychological) diseases and disorders with medicines. It therefore concerns the treatment with the administration of medication. This form of therapy is offered by the psychiatrist or by a doctor.

Supportive and Structuring Therapy

Supportive and structuring therapy is a form of communicative treatment that focuses on providing structure, stability and solving practical problems. The treatment uses techniques from behavioral therapy. In this therapy we assume that emotions and behavior are the result of your own beliefs and thoughts. Working on your thoughts and behavior will improve your complaints.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a mixture of behavioral therapy with interventions developed from cognitive psychology. The core is the assumption that irrational thoughts lead to non-functional behavior, such as avoidance behavior or aggression. With CBT we focus on changing the substantive thoughts, so that the behavior also improves and therefore the outcomes of the behavior will also improve.

Systemic therapy

Systemic therapy is a collective name for all methods and strategies that are used in the counseling and treatment of families with all kinds of psychosocial problems. The starting point is that every individual is part of a system (family, relationship, relationship). By involving the system in the treatment, individual complaints can be effectively reduced.

EMDR

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR for short) is a therapeutic treatment method that is mainly used for people with a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In EMDR, traumatic memories are recalled while attention is diverted with eye movements. With EMDR it often appears possible to completely eliminate this traumatic response, without extensive conversations and in a relatively short time.

Exposure Therapy

Exposure is used for anxiety and panic-related complaints. There are various forms of exposure. The key is that you are gradually exposed to your fears. If necessary, you will receive medical support.
