Synthese iGGz is an institution providing intercultural mental health care based in The Hague. As a specialized medical treatment center, we offer outpatient psychiatric care to anyone 18 years of age or older.
How to refer patients to us
In order for your patient to be eligible for reimbursement by their health insurer, a valid referral letter from you is required. You can refer your patient for either basic mental healthcare or specialist mental healthcare. In both cases, they can come to us.
Would you kindly refer us via ZorgDomein? This is an online referral system. The referral letter will then be sent directly to us.
Patients can be referred to us via ZorgDomein. This is possible for both General Mental Health Care and Specialist Mental Health Care for treatments related to various DSM-5 classified disorders. If you would like to refer a patient but do not use Zorgdomein, please click below:

Languages
Both intake interviews and treatment sessions can be conducted in various languages, including Dutch, Turkish, (Classical) Arabic, Hindustani, Hindi, Urdu, Farsi, French, German, and English.
Region
We accept patients residing in the Haaglanden region (The Hague, Delft, Zoetermeer, Rijswijk, Leidschendam-Voorburg, Wassenaar, Pijnacker-Nootdorp, Westland, Midden-Delfland) and Leiden.

You will receive feedback from us after the intake phase, during the process, and at the conclusion of the care program.
Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria
Inclusion criteria
Patients with (suspected) cases of the following conditions can be treated at Synthese :
- Depressive mood disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Trauma and stressor-related disorders
- Neurobiological developmental disorders: ADHD and ADD
- Obsessive-compulsive and related disorders
- Somatic symptom disorder and related disorders
- Mild personality issues
Exclusion criteria
Patients with (suspected) cases of the following conditions cannot be treated at Synthese :
- Bipolar disorder
- Suicidal behavior with a high risk of suicide
- Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders
- Addiction issues (including alcohol addiction, drug addiction, gambling addiction, and sex addiction)
- Severe personality disorder (with or without suicidal behavior)
- Intellectual disability
- Eating disorders
- Adjustment disorders
- Relationship problems
- CPP (persistent physical symptoms; formerly MUS)
- Forensic care, aftercare following detention, and criminality (indication Fivoor)
- Aggression dysregulation as sole diagnosis (indication De Waag)
