No-Show Policy for Patients
Appointment confirmation
When you make an appointment, we will send you an appointment confirmation. We will also send you a text message reminder 48 hours before your appointment. Occasionally, the appointment reminder may not be sent. Therefore, please make sure you also note your appointment in your calendar.
If you are unable to attend, please let us know in advance so that you will not incur any costs.
How do you cancel your appointment?
Please contact us at least 24 hours in advance to cancel your appointment. You can do this by calling 070 – 424 72 00. Press 1 and state your name and date of birth. Then indicate which appointment (date and time) you wish to cancel. This can also be done outside office hours.
After receiving your message, we will call you to schedule a new appointment.
Did you fail to cancel your appointment (on time)?
If you do not cancel your appointment (on time), this is called a no-show. A no-show can have various consequences.
During your intake:
- If you do not attend and do not let us know, you will receive a letter from us. If you do not respond to that letter, we will close your file. If you do respond, we will schedule one more appointment.
- If this happens again, we may decide to close your file.
At a follow-up appointment:
- If you do not show up, we may impose a penalty: €35 for a regular appointment and €50 for a double appointment (two practitioners).
- If you fail to attend three times, we will close your file.
Cancellation due to illness
If you cancel your appointment late because you are ill, in many cases there is nothing you can do about it. Your practitioner or the secretariat will contact you to make a new appointment. However, if your practitioner sees a lack of motivation, the cancellation may be counted as a no-show.
